BIOGRAPHY
Srdjan Stanković was born 1964 in Montenegro. He received the B.S. (Hons.) degree in electrical engineering from the
University of Montenegro, in 1988, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Zagreb, Croatia,
in 1991, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Montenegro in 1993.
He received the Award for the first place in Montenegro in the High School Physics competitions (1981, 1982),
the Award for the best student in Montenegro (1987), the Award of Montenegrin Academy of Science and Arts for scientific
achievements as young researcher (1995).
From 1988 to 1992, he worked in the Aluminum Plant of Podgorica as a Research Assistant. In 1992 he joined the Faculty
of Electrical Engineering, University of Montenegro, where he is currently a Full Professor. Since 2007, he has been the
Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Montenegro. His interests are in signal processing,
multimedia systems, and digital electronics.
He is a member of the Board of Directiors in Montenegrin Broadcasting
Company since 2004. He was the President of the Board of Directors in Montenegrin Broadcasting Company (2005-2006).
In 1998 he spent a period of time with the Department of Informatics at the Aristotle University in
Thessaloniki, supported by Greek IKY foundation. In the 1999-2000, he was on leave at the Darmstadt University of
Technology, with the Signal Theory Group, supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. In 2002, he spent three
months at the Department of Computer Science, the University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, as an Alexander von
Humboldt Fellow. From 2004 to 2006, he stayed several times with the E3I2 Laboratory, ENSIETA, Brest, France.
From 2007 to 2010 he visited (one month research stay) Centre for digital signal processing research at King's College
London, Laboratory of mathematical methods of image processing, at Moscow State University Lomonosov and Center for
Advanced Communications at Villanova University, PA, as well as GIPSA Laboratory at INPG Grenoble.
He has published several textbooks on electronics devices (in Montenegrin) and coauthored a monograph on
time-frequency signal analysis (in English). He has published more that 40 papers in the leading scientific
journals in the areas of signal and image processing.
He is the Leading Guest Editor of the EURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing for special issue:
Time-frequency analysis and its applications to multimedia signals, as well as the Guest Editor of the Signal
Processing for special issue: Fourier related transforms.
From 2005 to 2009 Dr. Stanković was serving as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Image Processing.
He is a Senior member of the IEEE.
BIOGRAFIJA
Srdjan Stanković je rodjen 1964. godine u Plavu. Osnovnu školu završio je u Ivangradu, a gimnaziju u Titogradu.
Nakon završetka i osnovne i srednje škole dobio je je diplomu Luča I. U srednjoj školi je učestvovao dva puta
na republičkim takmičenjima iz fizike i oba puta zauzeo prvo mjesto. Nakon odsluženja vojnog roka 1983. počeo
je sa studijama na Elektrotehničkom fakultetu u Titogradu. Studije je završio 1988. godine.
Bio je proglašen za najboljeg studenta Univerziteta 1987. godine.
Postdiplomske studije je upisao 1989. godine na Elektrotehničkom fakultetu u Zagrebu.
Magistarski rad je odbranio u Zagrebu 1991. godine. Doktorirao je na Univerzitetu Crne Gore 1993. godine.
Nakon diplomiranja bio je zaposlen u Institutu Kombinata Aluminijuma u Titogradu, a od 1992. radi na
Elektrotehničkom fakultetu u Podgorici. U zvanje docenta je izabran 1994. godine, u zvanje vanrednog
profesora 1998. godine, a u zvanje redovnog profesora je izabran 2003. godine.
U dva mandatna perioda od 1998-2002. godine obavljao dužnost šefa Katedre za elektroniku na Elektrotehničkom
fakultetu. Od 2002. do do 2007, Prof. Srdjan Stanković je bio rukovodilac trogodišnjih Studija primijenjenog računarstva.
U mandatnom periodu od 2007. do 2010, godine, Prof. Srdjan Stanković je obavljao dužnost Dekana
Elektrotehničkog fakulteta u Podgorici. Na istu dužnost reizabran je za period 2010-2013.
Nagradjen je 1995. godine od strane CANU nagradom iz fonda Petra Vukčevića, koja se dodjeljuje mladim naučnicima
za postignute rezultate u naučno-istraživačkom radu.
Član Upravnog odbora Crnogorskog radio-difuznog centra od 2004 godine (jednu godinu 2005-2006 obavljao dužnost predsjednika UO).
Tokom 1998. godine boravio je četiri mjeseca, kao stipendista Grčke vlade (IKY fondacija), na postdoktorskom
usavršavanju na Fakultetu za Informatiku, Aristotel Univerziteta u Solunu, gdje se bavio problemima zaštite
digitalnih podataka.
Školsku 1999/2000 proveo je na Elektrotehničkom fakultetu u Darmstadtu, Njemačka, podržan od strane poznate
Alexander von Humboldt fondacije. Tokom tog boravka izvodio je kompletnu nastavu, na predmetu Digitalni sistemi i obrada signala,
studentima treće godine i imao niz predavanja za profesore i saradnike tog fakulteta. Postigao je značajne rezultate na
istraživanjima vezanim za filtriranje signala u hands-free telefonskim sistemima.
Tokom 2002. godine boravio je tri mjeseca na Univerzitetu Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, na Fakultetu primijenjenih kompjuterskih
nauka. Bio je angažovan u izvodjenju nastave (u trajanju od mjesec dana na predmetu Multimediji) studentima treće
godine ovog fakulteta. Tokom tog boravka bavio se istraživanjima u oblasti digitalne video tehnike.
Od 2004. do 2008, više puta je boravio na fakultetu ENSIETA u Brestu (Francuska), INPG Univerzitetu u Grenoblu.
U navedenom periodu Prof. Stanković je boravio na Kings College-u u Londonu, Lomonosov Univerzitetu u Moskvi i na
Univerzitetu Villanova u Pensilvaniji u trajanju od po jednog mjeseca.
Imenovan je za izvještača i člana komisija za odbranu doktorskih disertacija na Univerzitetu Bretagne Occidentale
u Brestu i Univerzitetu u Grenoblu. Takodje, bio je član komisije za ocjenu doktorske disertacije u Islamabadu.
Objavio je do sada više od 100 naučnih radova, od kojih više od 40 u vodećim medjunarodnim časopisima.
Objavio je kao autor ili koautor više udžbenika.
Recenzent je u značajnom broju vodećih svjetskih časopisa, medju kojima je više njih iz IEEE i IEE izdanja.
Bio je jedan od urednika (Associate Editor) vodećeg časopisa u oblasti obrade signala IEEE Transactions on
Image Processing (2005-2010), gostujući urednik (Guest Editor) za specijalni broj poznatog evropskog časopisa:
Elsevier Signal Processing, kao i vodeći gostujući urednik (Lead Guest Editor) u eminentnom časopisu EURASIP
Journal on Advances in Signal Processing.
Najznačajniji naučni doprinosi Dr. Stankovića, koji su publikovani i značajno citirani u većem broju naučnih
radova u vodećim svjetskim časopisima, mogu se sažeti u sljedeće kategorije:
- Teorijski doprinos vremensko-frekvencijskoj analizi signala definisanjem visoko koncentrisane distribucije sa
kompleksnim argumentom vremena i njena generalizacija u klase distribucija koje obezbjedjuju idealna vremensko-frekvencijska predstavljanja.
- Predložen je novi pristup u Digitalnom Watermarking-u zasnovan na jednodimenzionim i višedimenzionim vremensko-frekvencijskim distribucijama.
- Razvijene su hardverske realizacije kola za vremensko-frekvencijsku analizu signala.
Govori engleski i francuski jezik, a služi se njemačkim i ruskim jezikom.
